TRAUMA & EMDR
Trauma and EMDR Therapy
You may be going through a difficult time.
You may be going through a difficult time.
Or perhaps you simply feel that something has gradually settled in over time: a persistent inner tension, emotional fatigue, a difficulty in regaining a true sense of security or calm.
Some people feel they have to remain constantly vigilant, as if their nervous system continues to anticipate the worst even when everything seems fine. Others describe a form of exhaustion: the feeling of having carried a heavy burden for a long time, until they gradually lose touch with themselves.
Sometimes, we fully understand what we've experienced, yet we find that our body, emotions, or certain reactions continue to function as if the danger were still present. Sleep becomes more fragile. Anxiety returns for no apparent reason. Some relationships become difficult or insecure.
Sometimes, simply relaxing seems to become complicated. These reactions don't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with you. They can reflect how the brain and nervous system have adapted to certain life experiences, recent or past.
If you recognize yourself in any part of this description, you're in the right place.
What I accompany

After more than forty years devoted to neuroscience research at the CNRS, I chose to direct this stage of my career towards neuropsychotherapy: understanding how life experiences, emotions, relationships and brain function contribute to psychological suffering as well as the healing process.
My approach integrates EMDR, trauma-focused therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, emotional regulation, and approaches from contemporary neuroscience, including polyvagal theory.
At the heart of this work lies a simple idea: when we better understand what is happening in our brain, our nervous system, and our relationships, it often becomes easier to understand what is happening in our lives. This understanding does not erase suffering, but it often opens up new possibilities for change.
This dialogue between neuroscience, psychotherapy and human experience forms the basis of my clinical practice, as well as the project The Brain of Presence.
